New Moon in Taurus ~ May 2, 2011
King of Cups

King of Cups, Rider-Waite-Smith deck
The King of Cups is the king of compassion in my book. He is the aspect of ourselves who is able to empathize with everyone’s experience and remains calm under pressure. Above all else, the King of Cups desires that all beings be happy and at peace. You could say he is our inner Dalai Lama.
In the coming month pay attention to where you can be a peacemaker in your world. This may be resolving tensions in your relationships or it may be donating time or resources to a social cause you support. Do not worry about which approach to take. Strategy is not as important as holding the intention to create positive change.
In whatever forms your peacemaking takes, be sure to do so with an open heart and a willingness to heal. The wisdom of the King of Cups lies in emotional knowledge that when we heal our world, we heal ourselves and vice verse.
New Moon in Aries ~ April 3, 2011
Ace of Pentacles

Ace of Pentacles, Rider-Waite Smith deck
After the flux of the last few months, the Ace of Pentacles shows up to ground us with the promise of success. Simply put, this moon cycle is an auspicious time in the areas of career, health and wealth. Yes, you heard right – good things are coming your way!
The universe wants to support you in achieving your goals and will present you with plenty of opportunities. The question is: are you able to recognize these as gifts? When the universe gifts us, it does not send save-the-date cards or present opportunities as beautifully wrapped gifts. Instead, these opportunities come in the guise of a business networking event, the advice of a close friend or a newspaper article that catches your eye. This month pay close attention to synchronicity in your daily life and your gut feeling that you need to take action now.
During April you take steps to move from visioning your future to actually manifesting success, on a big or small scale. In order to gift you, the universe needs to know that you believe in your success and are willing to do the work. Manifestation is not simply an act of expecting the best without any effort. It requires that we do the emotional and spiritual work of deepening self-worth, owning our talents and believing in ourselves. Once we have a strong center, we can set clear intentions and be receptive to all the universe has to offer. It is time for the next step in your success. It is time for action.
The Ace of Pentacles calls on you to step through the gate into the life you have envisioned.
